My first album, “Firehorse” has been released.

All the songs were written by me except “Steal a Flame” which was a co-write with Peter Bruntnell.

“Kiss The Sun” and “Vertigo” were co-writes with producer Tim Bradshaw - I wrote the words and Tim and I set them to music.

The sessions were produced by Tim Bradshaw and feature performances by some excellent musicians who gave of their time most generously.

The material was recorded and mixed at my project studio Summerisle, on a 16-track tape machine, apart from three songs ("Kiss The Sun", "Vertigo" and "Steal A Flame") which were recorded at Summerisle, but mixed at Moon Studios in Croydon by kind permission of it's owner David Lashmar of Beanos (Europe's biggest second hand record store.)

I engineered the sessions myself apart from the Moon mixes which were engineered by John Barrie. Incidentally, apparently lots of seventies hits were recorded at Moon (under previous management) by the likes of The Glitter Band, etc.

The title "Firehorse" came from Australian singer/songwriter Tania Bowra who told me that it was my Chinese birth sign. She is also a "Firehorse". Despite the fact that Astrology is a load of old rubbish, I was most attracted to the idea when she said that it meant that we were "extraordinary people" - anything to bolster my misplaced sense of self importance!!! Tania is most certainly extraordinary and anyone in Sydney should try to check out her gigs - if she's still playing.

The front cover photograph was taken by my dad Roland, when I was a kid. He was a highways engineer and used to take me out to sites with him from time to time. I found the shot in my parents house at the time we were trying out cover ideas. Other liner pictures were taken by "Pop Girl" Karen (now my wife), Tim Bradshaw, Chris Watts and myself.

The purple hand-written stuff on the back of the CD booklet is the working track sheets we had pinned to the wall in the studio.

The cover artwork is by Chris Watts and Robert Telford. I'm very pleased with the overall look. The front reminds me of something Hipnosis might have done in the seventies!

Finally the tracks were mastered by Guy at Hilton Grove.
